Q: I don’t have a high level of cooking skills - will I still be able to attend the private cooking classes?

A: YES! Our cooking classes have been designed and developed to be hands-on and a learning experience for anyone at any level of cooking. We want to encourage people that cooking authentic foods from India is simpler than we think. The Modern Desi herself – Bhavna – will help you in every step of the way and instructions will also be available at your cooking station.

We promise that you will walk away with new skills for the kitchen.

Q: What do I need to bring with me to private cooking classes?

Generally, The Modern Desi will provide all the ingredients, recipes, instructions and equipment (for cooking classes) and all you need to bring are yourselves, an apron, and to wear closed in shoes.

For private classes, we request that the host provides the equipment and utensils.
